Scoop was a project initiative to create a workspace in Trikala, a small town in central Greece, where young freelancers, artists and entrepreneuers could start their career and business or just spent some creative time in an open desk space with young people and free utilities, all at a very low fee (daily, weekly, monthly) or even no cost at all. The site was an abandoned building in with zero facilities, electric or water systems. All surfaces were then stripped clean and painted white, concrete screed covered the floor, plumbing and drainage was installed, along with brand new electrical wiring and facilities on a light metal suspending structure on the ceiling. All within a bare look of an industrial space open to future changes. Desks to work, sitting rest areas to socialise along with free wifi and coffee provided everything a freelancer needs. I created, founded and ran the current space for a period of 10 months leaving it to grow independently thereafter. It currently operates as an art gallery and creative lab studio with seminars on drawing and sculpting.
